Awareness of food safety and security is growing constantly, and demand is increasing rapidly for spices with low bacterial counts. We started our Clean Spice business as the core of our next-generation strategy to stay ahead of this new trend and become a market leader. Our new bases for this business are our cutting-edge Shiga No. 3 and No. 2 Factories, where we utilize manufacturing and management technologies of the highest level in Japan according to GMP and our Pharmaceutical Manufacturing License. We acquired the “Clean Spice” registered trademark before completing these factories, and also received Management Innovation Plan approval from Kyoto Prefecture on the theme of, “Sterilization technology development for and sale of ‘Clean Spices’ (low-bacterial-count spices) utilizing GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies.” Centered on the Shiga No. 2 and No. 3 Factories, we will also manufacture Clean Spices with groundbreakingly low bacterial counts at our Kyoto and Shizuoka Factories and make efforts to expand our sales channels with a view towards all spice fields.
